Darr (1993)
Aamir was not fully convinced to play a negative character and thus he said no to Yash Chopra after delaying the film for long. Darr made SRK an overnight star.
DDLJ (1995)
DDLJ was first refused by Saif and then Aamir also backed out as he was busy doing Rangeela. Most of the popular awards that year went to DDLJ and due to this partiality Aamir stopped attending all the award shows.
Mohabbatein (2000)
Aamir was interfering a lot with the script and thus left the film due to creative differences.
Hum Aapke Hai Koun (1994)
Aamir found the script of this movie way too lengthy and boring. The film went to Salman and made him a superstar.
Nayak (2001)
Nayak re-established Anil’s falling career but the movie was initially offered to Aamir.
Swades (2004)
Swades was rejected by Aamir as he wanted to do something different. The movie was critically acclaimed but was commercially a flop.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015)
Salman thankful to Aamir for rejecting a blockbuster movie like Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
Josh (2000)
Both Aamir and SRK wanted to do Max’s role and thus one had to opt out. The movie was a moderate success at the box office.
1942: A Love Story (1994)
Vidhu Vinod Chopra had written the story keeping Aamir in mind but he refused the movie straight away. The film went to Anil and was critically acclaimed too.
Saajan (1991)
Aamir didn’t like Salman’s part that was offered to him and thus he rejected the film. Saajan went on to be a blockbuster.
