As NATO troops leave Afghanistan, the Taliban warned Turkey not to send troops to protect Kabul’s airport after they leave, calling the move ‘reprehensible’ and threatening ‘consequences’. Turkey, which had promised to oversee and safeguard Istanbul’s airport after NATO leaves, is negotiating with its partners, including the US, for government, financial and military assistance.
