Bollywood Superstar Aamir Khan’s blockbuster movie Dangal is taking the Chinese box office by the storm as its collection crossed the mark of Rs. 40 crore gross in the country in just two days.
Bollywood movie Dangal was released as a Christmas treat in India and 40 other international markets on December 23, 2016. The movie has minted Rs. 730 crore gross at the worldwide box office so far. Earlier, the makers could not release the film in China, where Aamir Khan has a massive fan base.
Now, Dangal opened in China five months after its release in India. The movie was released in over 9,000 screens across the country on May 5 and received a spectacular response from everywhere. The Aamir Khan starrer created history by collecting Rs. 13.19 crore at the Chinese box office on its opening day itself.
The Nitesh Tiwari-directed sports biopic has indeed won the hearts of the film buffs in the country. Dangal collected approximately Rs 27.01 crore gross at the Chinese box office on Saturday taking its 2-day tally to Rs 40.20 crore gross.
Aamir Khan’s previous film PK, which crossed Rs.100-crore mark in the country, had collected $5.32 million at the Chinese box office in its opening weekend- the highest collection for any Indian film in China. Now, Dangal has shattered the record in just 2 days and is well on course to set a new benchmark by crossing the $10 million mark at the China box office in its opening weekend.
