Ducati India to launch these two models on June 14

Italian motorcycle maker Ducati will launch Monster 797 and Multistrada 950, two entry-level models, in India on June 14. Both the models are the most affordable in its family and will make the Ducati range in India more accessible to riders with relatively limited experience looking for a more affordable alternative.

Monster 797

With its compact and beefy tank, signature headlight and tapered tail, Monster 797 has the visual appeal like all the bigger Monster family bikes. The bike sits on the traditional Tubular steel Trellis frame.

This motorcycle is powered by an air-cooled 803cc Desmodue L-twin motor capable of delivering 75hp at 8,250rpm and a maximum torque of 69NM at 5,750rpm.

Monster 797 is equipped with the same suspension parts and tyres as Monster 821. It weighs 4.5kg less than Monster 821 at 175 kilos and that will make the bike easier to handle.

Multistrada 950

Ducati unveiled its new member in Multistrada family, Multistrada 950, at the 2016 EICMA show in Milan. Multistrada 950 is a more accessible package powered by tried-and-tested 939 Testastretta L-Twin that also powers the new SuperSport.

With the 113hp engine and 19-inch front wheel, Multistrada 950 is ideal for all-terrain as well as for daily commute.

Multistrada 950 is employed with 48mm KYB forks up front and a Sachs monoshock damper at the rear, both fully adjustable. Braking power comes from twin 320mm discs at the front and a 265mm rear disc while ABS comes as standard. The bike runs on Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tyres mounted on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels.

Both the bikes will come to India from Thailand via the CKD route. Ducati is planning to add more motorcycles in India this year. After the launch of Multistrada 950 and Monster 797, the Italian automaker has streamlined launch of Scrambler Desert Sled, Scrambler Cafe Racerand the SuperSport this year.
