A newly married man died after his girlfriend threw acid on him at the Venigandla village. The man got married only two days ago.
The deceased was Ilyas, a native of Pamulapadu village in Tadikonda mandal. He was working as a TV mechanic in a private company.
The police identified the attacker as Hima Bindu. A native of Pamulapadu village in Tadikonda mandal, she had been working at a pharmacy for a year.
While was staying at a working women’s hostel in Guntur, she developed a relationship with Ilyas, which continued for four years. On Tuesday, the woman called a friend of Ilyas and said she wanted to take back her photographs from him. Ilyas agreed to meet her at Venigandla village. During a heated conversation, the woman took out a bottle and threw acid across his face.
Neighbours rushed him to the Government General Hospital but died on the way.
