Can televisions add that nice view to any space?
Yes, it can now!
LG Electronics introduces a TV that is so thin it can be attached to a wall like you would do with wallpaper and, to the strictest sense, is bendable to a certain degree.
The ‘Picture-on-Wall’ LG Signature OLED TV W, the South Korean company’s latest offering in its premium TV segment, which was unveiled at January’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, was launched in Dubai on Wednesday.
The new home entertainment device clocks in at a super-slim 2.6mm and can be attached to walls using magnets. The almost gives the illusion of looking out a window.
Boo Kim, the general manager of LG Electronics Gulf’s TV division, likened the new TV to when the smartphone was still in its nascent stages; it was bulkier but gradually arrived in the design as we know it today.
“Ten or 15 years ago, TVs were so fat, then. They became thinner and more advanced. There’s a paradigm shift happening with today’s OLED technology,” he said.
OLED is today’s must-have technology, due to the many benefits it brings to the table – rather, to the screen, including a brighter display, unmatched colours and overall immersive experience.
The new TV – as well as LG’s other OLED line-ups for 2017 – supports the full palette of HDR formats, including Dolby Vision, HDR10 and Hybrid Log Gamma, and are also ready to support Advanced HDR by Technicolor.
