Dhola-Sadiya Bridge will be opened to public by PM Modi today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate India’s longest Dhola-Sadiya Bridge in Assam. Apart from the function PM will also inaugurate another project in the state too.

Pm will be addressing a rally organised in Guwahati. The Dhola-Sadiya Bridge promises to usher in prosperity in the North-East.

The bridge will provide efficient road connectivity to remote and the areas which have poor road infrastructure. It will boost overall economic development in the areas north of Brahmaputra in Upper Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.

The bridge will fill a huge connectivity gap that has existed in the region. Till now, the only means to cross the Brahmaputra at this location has been by ferry only in day-time.

The 9.15-kilometre bridge has been built at a cost of about Rs 2,056 crore over river Lohit, a tributary of the Brahmaputra.
