Kochi Metro will be inaugurated on June 17th by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The announcement came from the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s office yesterday, putting and an end to the chaos surrounding it.
The inauguration will be at Aluva.
Earlier it was decided that the inauguration of Kochi Metro rail will be on May 30th which also marked the first anniversary of Pinarayi Government. But PM’s office turned down the invite saying that Prime Minister won’t be there as he will be on foreign tour from May 29 to June 3.
The state BJP leaders came forward blaming the state government for not planning wisely and accused that they desperately trying not to bring PM for the inauguration.
Then Pinarayi office came up with the clarification that they are yet to decide the date for the inauguration and will decide after receiving further notice from PM’s office.
