The magnificent physique achieved by lead actor Prabhas and the chief villain Rana Daggubati in the Baahubali films has been the talk of the town, especially after the global success of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. As everyone knows, it takes a tremendously disciplined diet and exercise regimen to get such perfect bodies. More so when the making of the film goes on for years, as in the case of Baahubali. Which is what makes cheat meal days so special. On those days, Prabhas consumed 15 varieties of biryani!
Baahubali director SS Rajamouli reveals, “Whatever diet they followed, I left it to them. I didn’t put them under any pressure, but I will tell a funny incident about Prabhas. Once a month, they will have a cheat meal day; that’s a part of their routine because you’re continuously dieting. On that day, you should see the kind of display he has. There are about 10-15 kinds of biryani, just biryani! No exaggeration. You don’t even know those kinds of biryani even exist. Varieties of fish, chicken, mutton… and not just curries, fries. You just can’t imagine the kind of display.”
The filmmaker said this at a screening of Baahubali 2 at the British Film Institute, UK. He also shared that another thing Prabhas could not do without was chutney.
Applauding the dedication of both Prabhas and Rana, the director added that it was really difficult for both the actors to maintain their body, as they were playing both younger and older versions of their characters.
