The month-long monsoon session of Parliament is likely to commence from July 12.
According to one of the proposals before the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA), the session will commence from July 12 and conclude on August 11.
“The final call on the dates will be taken by the committee, headed by the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, after June 20,” the sources said.
The sources added that the session was being convened earlier due to the presidential election in which MPs and MLAs are voters. A session at that time will ensure that all the MPs are in Delhi for the polling. An MP can also vote in his home state where MLAs generally vote.
