The Supreme Court issued a notice to the Centre on the cattle slaughter issue. The notice was on a PIL filed by a Hyderabad based NGO.
The SC heard the plea challenging the Central government notification prohibiting sale and purchase of cattle at animal markets for slaughter on the basis that it will violate the right to free trade.
The Supreme Court has given the Centre two weeks to file its response and posted the hearing on Jully 11.
Centre told Court that the aim was ” to create a regulatory regime all over the country”.
