Kochi Metro second stage infrastructure will be established soon, says KMRL MD Elias George. He also added that the team will finish the metro project alone in the next step.
Kochi Metro is the newly inaugurated metro system for the city of Kochi in Kerala, India. It is the fastest metro project in India in completion time.
The Kochi metro project became the first metro in the country which connects rail, road and water transport facilities.
The first phase is being set up at an estimated cost of ?51.81 billion (US$800 million),[5]. The foundation stone was laid in 2012.
The construction work was started in June 2013 and the first phase was opened to passengers in 2017.A 13.4 km (8.3 mi) section of the line from Aluva to Palarivattom will be opened to the public on 17th June 2017 by Mr Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India.
