Catholic community will bring increase revision in the salary for hospital employees under the community administration. An 11 membered committee has been organised by the officials to discuss standard wages for nurses.
The action has been taken by the Catholic community is in accordance with the delayed decision from the state government in the issue of demanded wages for nurses. The new salary revision has been decided in the meeting of KCBC Labour Commission, Health Commission, Catholic Hospital Association and Hospital Directors.
The Indian Nurses’ Association (INA) and the United Nurses’ Association (UNA) are determined to escalate their protest without waiting for the government’s industrial relations committee (IRC) meeting to take a decision on the issue scheduled to be held on July 20.
The INA, however, has decided to go on a hunger strike till their demands are met.
