Ajman to get new roads worth Dh13million

The ministry of infrastructure development has started building a number of internal roads at the Raqayeb-2 residential compound in the emirate of Ajman.

The project, worth Dh13 million, is to be completed in the third quarter of 2018, according to Eng. Ahmed Al Hammadi, manager of roads department in the ministry of infrastructure development.

The one and two-direction that comprises one lane in each direction shall be lit by solar power, he added.

“This will help reduce carbon emissions and negative impact on the environment, leave alone the lower maintenance costs.”

The project, to include a number of intersections and traffic lights, will be carried out in line with the latest standards and specifications, he underlined.

“The new internal roads will be an added attraction to the Emirati nationals to stay in the 306 modern style houses there.”

The Raqayeb-2 compound is being carried out by the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme, he elaborated.

“The compound, highly accredited by the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council, comprises 306 houses which are being constructed on a total area of 502 square meters at a cost of Dh350 million.”

Eng. Al Hammadi said the ministry projects are being implemented in view of the latest sustainability and green buildings standards. “These are also in line with the UAE 2021 Vision.
