In an incident of pothole-related tragedy, a woman biker was crushed to death after she fell off her motorcycle when it hit a pothole.
Jagruti Hogale, 35, a resident of Bandra came under the tyres of a truck at Dahanu-Jawhar Road.
“Due to the pothole, she lost balance and her head came under the rear tyre of the truck she was trying to overtake. She could not spot the pothole as it was filled with water,” said an official from Kasa police station.
Jagruti was a bike enthusiast. Her social media profile is filled with pictures of her trips and bike rallies that she participated in for gender equality.
This is the fourth death in a year on the Dahanu-Jawhar Road wherein a biker from Mumbai has died.
