The emoji icons have been unleashed and Majid Al Futtaim malls in Dubai invite shoppers to catch these yellow happy faces to win daily prizes during Dubai Summer Surprises.
Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Deira and City Centre Mirdif bring an exclusive immersive game this summer that merges the latest technology with entertainment for a one-of-a-kind fun experience at the malls.
The emoji game at the mall is an exciting new augmented reality game that is specially designed for shoppers and combines the adorable and much-loved emoji that has become the mainstay of online chat with high-tech augmented reality gaming. The initiative is in line with Majid Al Futtaim’s strategy to introduce innovative gamification concepts to create a unique experience for everyone, every day.
Participants must get active for a friendly challenge to find colourful emoji icons spread across the malls with the emoji app until August 12.
Shoppers who spend Dh300 at any of the malls can redeem their receipts at the customer service desk for a token to play the augmented reality game. They will be handed an iPad loaded with the emoji app and will have 20 minutes to find five of the 15 emoji that come alive on their screens as they roam the mall to try and catch them for points.
Participants can earn bonus points by sharing their activity on Facebook, as well. The scores will also be displayed on a real-time leader board in the mall and the top three players of the day will win prizes, with Dh1,000 for the first-place winner and Dh750 and Dh500 for the first and second runners-up, respectively. The fourth and fifth place winners will win 2 tickets each to Ski Dubai.
