Yet another youth from Kerala, who had left home to join the Islamic State last year, has been killed according to the message received by his family.
The death of the youth, identified as Marwan Ismail (23), a resident of Trikaripur, was conveyed by another youth, Ashfaq Majeed, via a Telegram account. The message had just one line which said Marwan was “martyred”.
According to his family, Marwan left home to join the Islamic State in May 2016 as part of a 21-member group.
The family said he was suspected to be in Nangarhar, a province in Afghanistan partially controlled by the IS, and was apparently killed in a drone attack along with a few others.
From this group, four youths, identified as T K Hafeesuddin, Yahiya, Shajeer Abdullah and Mursheed, had been killed earlier. These deaths were also confirmed by the same Telegram user.
