Today’s gun battle took place just days after security forces killed top Lashkar-e-Taiba militant Abu Dujana and his accomplice in an encounter at Hakripora village in Pulwama district on August 1.

Meanwhile, internet services were cut off after the encounter in Baramulla district, where Sopore is located.

“All government and private schools and colleges in Sopore would be closed today following the encounter,” the Additional Deputy Commissioner said.
