Eamon Edwards is an engineering student from Mariyan Engineering College. He stays in Trivandrum city and loves football and travelling. Eamon shares his thoughts on life, travelling and college.
College life
I see a lot of opportunities in college. We are put through a lot of different workshops. I was uncomfortable first, but then, I saw opportunities hiding in every corner and that has helped me blossom into a confident, person. Not everyone gets to see college as a hub of opportunity.
Passion
I love football. Absolutely love it. Our entire family does too. We grew up playing football. I have also competed for the under 14 category in the school team. I am in the college team too. But we don’t get to practice as much as we would like to. College events literally prevent us from properly practicing. I don’t care though, we have a group of friends near Trivandrum city, and we play every weekend.
Travelling
Travelling is the only other thing I love more than football. I am not an avid traveler. At the same time I do not want to stay in one place for the rest of my life. I want to see and explore the vast space that the earth is. There are a lot of places that we do not see in our life time. I want to visit them all. I travel because there is a serenity and peacefulness when you are in love with nature. I am a part of a biker gang called storm riders. We always cause a storm around us! The bond in a Biker gang is sacred. We are like family, only people who have the same wavelength as us are allowed to ride with us. Being a close knit group, we literally know everything about each other and knowing everything has given us the support we need. It’s a bond.
I have traveled to Manali, Ladakh, Goa, Delhi, Mumbai, Himachal Pradesh. I think the policemen there are very helpful. They are genuine people who go out of their way to help out travelers in need. There are two extreme cultures In Delhi the super wealthy and the slums. I loved Ladakh the most. It is scenic and has excellent vista.
Photography
I used to take photograpgs as a joke, but from the encouragement of friends, I took it as a serious passion. I try to take as many landscapes as possible. I also do portraits still learning though, there is enough right here in Trivandrum itself… I try taking my camera and visiting places in and around Trivandrum itself.
Hobbies
I am an avid numismatist.
Philosophy
Live bold, don’t waste any opportunities no matter how trivial or small.
