India Yamaha Motor has launched the much-anticipated its new bike – Yamaha Fazer 250 in India. The new Yamaha Fazer 250 gets a full-body front fairing coupled with improved aerodynamics offering better wind protection. It has been reported that the latest offering by Yamaha, the Yamaha Fazer 250 will rival the likes of Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 in the segment. Not an all-new motorcycle, the Yamaha Fazer 250 is a fully faired, sport-tourer version of the existing Yamaha FZ25 street bike.
This is not the first time that Yamaha has launched a fully faired bike. After the Yamaha R15, Yamaha Fazer 250 is the second bike from India Yamaha Motor, which is the fully faired bike in its segment. Though this is the second fully-faired bike from Yamaha, but Yamaha Fazer 250 is going to be company’s first 250cc motorcycle in the segment in India.
The newly-launched Yamaha Fazer 250cc model features full-body front fairing which offers better aerodynamics. There are numerous additions in the new Yamaha Fazer 250 which include LED daytime positioning lights. The main headlamp unit of the new Yamaha Fazer 250 remains same as the semi-faired 150cc Fazer.
Mechanical changes
Though there are cosmetic changes in the new Yamaha Fazer 250cc model, there are no mechanical changes in the new Yamaha Fazer 250. The newly launched Yamaha Fazer 250 offers a similar ride as compared with the FZ25. The only difference in the Yamaha Fazer 250 ride is the wind protection that is offered because of the improved aerodynamics.
According to India Yamaha Motor, the new Yamaha Fazer 250 is a versatile machine, focused to offer a comfortable riding experience. The Yamaha Fazer 250 will not only offer a comfortable daily commuting ride but will also be perfect for weekend rides as well, the company claimed.
Power that runs the Yamaha Fazer 250
The Yamaha Fazer 250 is powered by the 250cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. New Fazer 250’s two-valve petrol engine churns out 20.9 ps of power at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 20Nm at 6,000rpm. This calm yet powerful engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox. For enhanced heat dissipation the petrol engine gets an oil-cooler. The Yamaha Fazer 250 also gets a fuel injection system for better response.
Price, competition and booking period
Competing directly with the likes of the Bajaj Pulsar RS 200, the Yamaha Fazer 250 is expected to gulp down the sales of some other models in the segment in similar price range. As per reports, bookings for the new Fazer 250 have started across India but the waiting period has not been reported as such. The Yamaha Fazer 250 has been initially launched with a price tag of Rs 1 lakh 28 thousand (approximately).
