Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch more than 9,500 projects in Rajasthan on August 29 which is at a cost of over Rs 27,000 crore. These project will include national highways, state roads and rural roads under PMGSY and Rajasthan govt’s flagship programmes.
Modi is scheduled to visit Udaipur on next Tuesday. He will dedicate to the nation eleven completed National Highways projects totalling a length of about 873 km. The 11 projects include a 6-lane Cable Stayed Bridge across river Chambal at Kota. In addition to this, he will perform Bhoomi Pooja for six NH projects of about 556 km.
According to the reports, the majority of the projects fall under the Centre’s rural connectivity programmes, as well as those of the state government, such as the PMGSY, Rajasthan Road Sector Modernisation Project and Gramin Gaurav Path. Thirty-one others are on the build-operate-and-transfer model.
Modi is visiting the state after almost two and a half years for a programme associated with the government and the party. His last public rally was in February 2015 at Sriganganagar at the launch of the soil health card where he also addressed a public rally.
Modi’s visit on the other is also being seen as the beginning of taming the state for the 2018 assembly election and so consequently the 2019 Parliamentary polls.
