During Onam season Marigold flowers are largely transported from Tamil Nadu to Guruvayur. But, this year Guruvayur will celebrate Onam with the flowers cultivated locally.
Marigold farming is being undertaken in 25 cents of land near Ariyanoor Plackattu temple by Thamarayoor resident Vattathoor Rajagopal.
Rajagopal had launched marigold farming on July 1 and his hard work has yield results now.
Accordingly, the flowers in red and yellow colour will be available for the locals to lay floral carpets during Onam.
