FIFA Under-17 World Cup trophy reaches Kolkata

The FIFA Under-17 World Cup trophy reached Kolkata, two days ahead of schedule, giving football fans an early opportunity to catch a glimpse of the coveted Cup.

Soon after the trophy was displayed at Salt Lake City Centre around 11am, news spread like wildfire on social media. Soon, thousands made their way to the venue to take a look at the trophy for which 24 countries will vie for in 52 games from October 6 to 28.

The three-day ‘trophy experience’ will conclude at the Eco Park, a popular tourist spot where fans will have the opportunity to come up close and take selfie with the silverware.

The trophy arrived in Kolkata from Guwahati yesterday and will stay there till September 3, after which it will travel to Mumbai. In all, the trophy will cover 9,000km across six cities in a span of 40 days.
