Eid Al Adha is know as the festival of obedience where a father’s obedience almost sends his son to his death. This occasion is celebrated by killing of a goat. A third is sent to poor, another third to relatives and a third is retained by the family to feast. In commemoration to Eid Al Adha, a Saudi man bought a goat worth SR 13 million which is a rough $3.46 million. The Saudi national stated that he bought it because it belonged to a completely different breed and had special features.
The owner of the goat was riding high on the status boost that a goat gave him but what he also failed to understand is the financial constraints faces by many other nationals in the state. Bloggers, tweeters and everyone holding the social media power went crazy with their online comments. One one side, people were discussing the high amount of the goat, on the other side many notable personalities raised their voices against this act of exuberant expenditure.
