Veteran actor, Kamal Haasan has confirmed that he is actively considering launching his own political party. “Yes I am thinking on those lines, not out of choice but compulsion. Which existent political party can provide me with a platform or an ideology that will match my reformatory goals in politics?” Hasan was quoted saying.
Kamal Haasan reiterated his earlier statement where he said that he won’t align with any political party in Tamil Nadu.
“A political party is about an ideology. And I don’t think my goals in politics can match the ideology of any political party,” he added.
Recently, Haasan met Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. “My color is definitely not saffron. That much I can say now,” Kamal Haasan told the media, in response to questions whether he would swing to the Left or Right.
Although it’s a crucial time to enter the political scene in Tamil Nadu, the overwhelming response by the public has motivated him.
“I have got huge support from people as an artist. If I am able to get half of this in politics, then I will be successful,” said the 62-year-old who has acted in more than 220 films.
