Several Muslim organisations in Bihar today came out in support of Rohingyas after an affidavit was filed by the Centre on Tuesday where in it was mentioned that the community is a threat to the internal security. The community is alleged to have links with Pakistan-based terror organisations.
Hundreds of Muslim protestors carried out a protest march in Darbhanga under the banner of Jamiat Ulema-E-Hind and raised slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The protestors demanded that PM Modi should break his silence on the contentious issue of sending back 40,000 Rohingya Muslims belonging to Myanmar back to the country. These Rohingya refugees have been living in various parts of the country for last several years.
They demanded that PM Modi should also intervene in the issue of genocide of Rohingya Muslims taking place in Myanmar.
“If PM Modi does nothing on this issue then we will not sit silent. We will take our movement to Delhi and raise our voice at the United Nations,” said a protestor.
The Rohingya supports asserted that the Buddhists community who were considered to be peace lovers were indulging into killing of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.
The Muslim organisations also alleged that the Centre was conspiring to throw the 40,000 Rohingyas out of the country by linking them to terror organizations.
After the protest march, the protestors met Darbhanga district magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh and submitted a memorandum in support of their demand from the Centre.
