Ramcharan Ramdas Dwivedi, 21, was addicted to sex and drugs. His mother wwho found out about it, plotted with his eldest brother Sitaram, to eliminate her son in Mumbai, India. The police have arrested the woman after she confessed to the crime. Three others have also been held for the murder which was committed on August 20.
Two friends Keshav Mistry and Rakesh Yadav along with Sitaram received rs. 50,000 for the deed. The duo and Sitaram took Ramcharan in a tempo from Bhayandar and brought him to a mine in the Jankipada area of Vasai around 2pm. They slashed his throat and threw his body in the mine, a police official was quoted.
His body was spotted the next day on August 21. The cops displayed posters in many areas, but the man couldn’t be identified till September 14. The police came to know that a man – which matched Ramcharan’s description – had gone missing during the same time when his body was found. Zeroing in on the suspects, they questioned his mother and asked her why she didn’t file a missing report. Her replies didn’t convince the cops and eventually, after being quizzed thoroughly, she gave in and admitted to having hired the contract killers to murder her son.
“We have arrested four accused under sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence, or giving false information to screen offender) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code. They were produced before the court and remanded in police custody. They have confessed to their crime,” Anil Akde, SDPO, Vasai division, was quoted as saying.
