Mrs. Atti, world’s heaviest woman passed away

Eman Abdul Atti, once known as the ‘world’s heaviest woman’ passed away on Monday, September 25, at 4:35am due to complications from the underlying morbid conditions, including heart disease and kidney dysfunction, according to medical experts at Burjeel Hospital.

The 37-year-old, who weighed 504kg when she arrived in Mumbai on February 11 this year, managed to shed more than 330kg and was able to feed herself for the first time in 25 years. She had been under the supervision of over 20 doctors from different specialties, who were managing her medical condition from the time she arrived in the UAE. 

Eman’s family expressed their appreciation and care and treatment provided to her by Burjeel Hospital. 

“Our prayers and heartfelt condolences go out to her family,” said the hospital.
