New city discovered in Iraq, could be from the time of Alexander the Great

Alexander of Greece is probably the most famous ruler. PERIOD. His brilliance and strategy has  never been repeated by any other monarch. If you think you know everything about the great ruler, then think again. A new city has been discovered recently by archaeologists in Iraqi Kurdistan in the Sulaymaniyah governorate. Now the ancient city, which was probably founded in the times of Alexander the Great.

The archaeologists named the settlement as Qalatga Darband. The city has traces of fortifications. Although the exact time of construction of the city is still unknown, researchers suggest that it appeared at the time when Alexander the great had made a campaign against the Persian king Darius III.
