In this year Dubai sold the world’s most expensive pillow(for an insomnia-curing Dhs210,000), plus the world’s most expensive burger (sold at a Dubai charity event for Dhs36,700).
Now, Dubai got the world’s most expensive coffee – so caffeine fanatics, get ready to twitch through the afternoon on this stupendous sip.
On Saturday September 30, coffee enthusiasts can have the chance to sample Esmeralda Geisha Cañas Verdes, which is more expensive per kilo than any other coffee, and is an extremely limited batch. Only 45.5 kg of the coffee exists in the world, and recently sold at auction for a record price of US$1,325 (just under Dhs5,000) per kilo.
Head to Seven Fortunes Coffee Roasters in Al Quoz, where for Dhs250 you will get entry to the 601 Experience, which will share the coffee with attendees, plus 15 grams of the roasted coffee, plus entry for a friend. If you’re after more, a Dhs550 ticket will get you the 15 grams of coffee to use at the event, plus 50 grams of Esmeralda Geisha Cañas Verdes in beans to take home with you.
“The UAE market is hungry for coffee and I’m proud to be the one to bring this record-breaking experience to Dubai,” says Karim Hassan, Founder, Seven Fortunes Coffee Roasters. “Who knows what the future will bring, but today this coffee is the highest scoring and best tasting coffee among the Global Specialty Coffee Grading System. This is not an opinionated taste, but a proven fact.”
