India started to celebrate Air Force day on 8th of October in the year 1932 as an auxiliary air force of Indian Empire.
The Indian Air Force, air arm of the Indian armed forces, has its prime responsibility of securing the Indian airspace as well as to carry out the aerial warfare during any clash.
We started to celebrate Air Force Day in order to increase awareness about the importance of Indian air force in any organization of the national security by both officially and publicly.
The Air Force Parade marks the beginning of the celebration on October 8. All Air Force stations conduct their respective parades at their air bases. The traditional military parade follows the same protocol.
The 85th Air Force Day was marked by a scintillating air display by various aircraft which is the hallmark of the Air Force Day Parade cum Investiture Ceremony at Air Force Station Hindan (Ghaziabad).
The air display commenced with flag bearing sky divers of famous Akash Ganga Team dropping out of AN-32 aircraft in their colourful canopies.
On its day of glory, the IAF displays its vintage, modern and fighter aircrafts. The aircrafts and helicopters deployed for various important missions like Operation Rahat and Operation Meghdoot are also exhibited.
The Indian Air Force has made a lot of technological advancements in the last few years. New aircrafts and helicopters inducted during the event show the progress and development in the field creating a new benchmark each time in the history of the Indian Air Force.
