Micromax on Tuesday announced Bharat-1, the company’s first 4G-enabled feature phone that will allow customers to make “unlimited” voice calls and consume “unlimited” high-speed data at a nominal fee of Rs. 97 each month, partnership with BSNL.
The Micromax Bharat 1 is priced at Rs. 2,200. The Bharat 1 handset rivals Reliance Jio’s Jio Phone, and the low-cost smartphone by Karbonn Mobiles and Airtel. Micromax is calling it ‘Desh ka 4G phone’, and says it will be available from retail stores starting Friday, October 20.
Bharat-1 is powered by an entry-level Qualcomm Snapdragon processor that enables 4G VoLTE support. The Micromax Bharat-1 also supports more than 22 languages. There is a 2000mAh battery.
The “Made in India” Bharat-1 is a dual-SIM capable feature phone. It features a 2-megapixel camera on the back side, and a VGA camera upfront. The Bharat-1 will offer access to more than 100 live TV channels, there are tons of songs and videos as well, Rahul Sharma, a founder of Micromax said. At Rs. 97 tariff plan, you can do everything on this phone, he added.
