Dileep’s ousting from the AMMA (All Malayalam Movie Artist) organization was not to please Prithviraj Kalabhavan Shajohn clarified. The officials were not coerced into taking a decision.
Kalabhavan Shajohn said that the decision regarding Dileep’s removal from his position of the treasurer was however a hasty one. The association decision was taken during an emergency meeting held at the celebutante Mammooty’s residence on July 11, the day after Dileep’s arrest.
The allegation that the decision was taken by Mammooty the General Secretary of AMMA was to please Prithviraj was brought forward by K.B. Ganesh Kumar. Ganesh said that as per AMMA’s rules Mammooty decision is not valid as Dileep’s cancellation of membership and suspension can only take place after a detailed inquiry by a disciplinary committee set up by the association.
Shajohn said he decision was taken as measure that AMMA does not stand for felonies committed by their members. Later they felt that the decision was a hurried one when rumors of Dileep’s innocence surfaced.
The actor who was arrested on the 10th of July was granted bail on October 3rd.
