Justin Timberlake will perform in Super Bowl LII’s halftime show on February 4 in Minneapolis. The announcement has reignited criticism that the singer didn’t do right by Janet Jackson after her “wardrobe malfunction” during their halftime Super Bowl XXXVIII performance in 2004.
The Super Bowl Halftime Show is known for being one of the most highly watched global events every year, with last time’s show reaching more than 150 million people across the globe, including more than 80 million views. This year, the Superbowl halftime show was played by Lady Gaga, who began her performance on the roof of the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, before appearing to ‘jump’ inside the venue.
Timberlake ripped off Jackson’s bodice and revealed her breast while the two were performing at the end of the halftime show. Jackson said in a statement at the time that it was a “costume reveal” gone awry and issued an apology. Timberlake also apologized for the incident and said it was “not intentional and is regrettable.” After the incident Jackson bear the whole critisms and fallout.
