Air quality in Delhi remains poor leading school students to spread awareness among the commuters.
About a week after Diwali, the air quality in Delhi still remains poor that school students have launched awareness to the citizens.
Scores of students from Army School Dhaula Kuan launched a two-hour-long campaign at Motibagh crossroad with placards, requesting motorists to switch off the engines of their vehicles whenever they see a signal of 15 seconds and above.
Adya Singhania, the student who led the campaign said that by switching off the engines at traffic signals of 15 seconds and above, the motorists can help reduce the pollution and also reduce their carbon footprint. The students also distributed pollution masks to the auto-rickshaw drivers, two-wheeler riders and traffic police, who are exposed to the pollution throughout the day.
Students from other schools also stood at the traffic signals with placards and banners at the busy ITO crossing to spread awareness.
