Gujarath poll dates are announced by AK Jyoti – the Election Commissioner, the Assembly polls are to be conducted in a two phase manner. The first phase will be conducted on December 9th, while the second is to be conducted on December 14th. Counting of the votes on December 18.
No candidate is allowed spend more than Rs 28 lakhs on campaigning, he also stipulated that Model code of conduct comes into force with immediate effect. Total number of polling stations is 50,128, and will have EVMs and VVPATs. The state will also have 182 all-woman managed polling stations.
