Indo-Russian pilots flew together in `Indra 2017′ show of forces

An Indo-Russian tri-services military exercise, named as `Indra 2017’ began at Vladivostok, Russia. Fighter pilots of India and Russia on Wednesday flew together in the show of force. This is for the first time the three armed wings of Indian Army participating in `Indra 2017’.  Around Indian Air Force personnel, 350 Indian Army personnel, and two navy warships are participating. The main objective of Indra 2017 is to boost professional interaction, the establishment of joint command between Russian and India’s forces and elimination of terror threat.

 

Indra exercise in its earlier nine editions was conducted as a single service exercise alternately between India and Russia. The exercise will boost the relationship between Indian and Russian forces. Around 1000 troops of the 5th army, ships, and marines belonging to Pacific Fleet and aircrafts are taking part from the Russian side. The defense exercise is being conducted at the 249th Combined Army Range Sergeevich and Sea of Japan near Vladivostok. The exercise began on October 19 with an opening ceremony after that a ceremonial banquet was conducted by Russia, in which army personals of the two countries interacted each other.
