President to lay foundation for Technocity, will arrive in Trivandrum tomorrow

President Ram Nath Kovind’s itinerary looks compelling for his visit to Trivandrum tomorrow.

The president will arrive in the State on Friday for a two-day visit. He will arrive via special aircraft at 2.50 p.m. and lay the foundation stone for the first government building in the prestigious Technocity at Pallipuram.

He will be given a formal reception by Governor P. Sathasivam, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran, among others.

The President is expected to pay floral tributes at the Ayyankali statue situated at Vellayambalam at 5.30 p.m. The Thiruvananthapuram city Corporation will host a public reception for the President at Tagore Theatre on behalf of the State government at 6 p.m.

The president will stay at Raj Bhavan for the night after attending a dinner hosted by the Governor in his honour. The next day, he will  leave for Kochi at 9.45 a.m. Mr. Kovind is set to inaugurate the valedictory function of the diamond jubilee celebrations of the High Court of Kerala at 11 a.m.

He will leave then for Delhi at 12.30 p.m., according to an official statement.
