Mann Ki Baat: Modi reminisces Diwali with troops, lauds our Jawans, sport persons

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed the nation in the 37th edition of ‘Mann Ki Baat’, highlighting the role of our Jawans. “Celebrating Diwali with soldiers in Jammu & Kashmir’s Gurez sector was an unforgettable experience for me. We must try to know of the tales of valor of our soldiers,” said Modi.

Stating that India has always given a message of peace, Modi said, “More than 18,000 soldiers have contributed to UN Peacekeeping missions. Our role is not confined to peacekeeping operations. India also trains peacekeepers of 85 countries.”

The Prime Minister also said that Indian women soldiers have contributed significantly to peacekeeping missions. “India was the first nation to send women to peacekeeping missions,” he added.

Modi also spoke about the disease like Diabetes affecting the young Indians. “Yoga for Young India’ can help young prevent and help the fight lifestyle diseases,” he said.

PM Modi also praised sportspersons for Hockey and Badminton win. “After 10 years India won Asia Cup. I congratulate entire team and the support staff. I congratulate Shuttler Kidambi Srikanth for winning Denmark Open and for making India proud.”

Speaking about FIFA U-17 World Cup, Modi said, “Young Indian players has won the hearts of fans. Future of football is bright in India.”

The Prime Minister also invoked sister Nivedita saying, she worked to unite people by awakening national consciousness.

Urging the nation to participate in ‘Run for Unity’, Modi said, “31st October is Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel’s anniversary. He not only suggested revolutionary ideas but also implemented them, and united India’. ‘Run for Unity’ will be organized throughout the country.”
