Google honors Urdu writer Qavi Desnavi with their new doodle. November 1st being his 87th birth anniversary Google pays tribute to his contributions to Urdu language enrichment. The new Google doodle depicts as Desnavi sitting in the middle and writing in the backdrop of Urdu letters in calligraphic touch.
He was born in an erudite family at Bihar’s Desna village in 1930, November 1. Desnavi belonged to an. He had a strong academic background. His primary education was in Arrah. He completed his graduation and post graduation from St. Xavier’s College Mumbai. Later, he became a Professor in Saifia Post Graduate College in Bhopal. He was made the head of Urdu Department there. He was a member of several literary and academic bodies.
The Indian born Urdu writer also showed his excellence as a critic, bibliographer, and linguist. Desnavi, has contributed immensely towards the evolution of Urdu literature. He had published a vast collection of fiction, biographies, poetry, and anthologies in Urdu. Some of the major works of Qavi includes Hayat-e-Abul Kalam Azad, a book on freedom fighter Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Sat Tahriren, Motala-E-Khotoot Ghalib and Talash-E-Azad.
