Drug user on trial, wrecks public property and endangers the police officials

A drug user, in order to avoid arrest had rammed his car into that of the policemen, endangering their lives.

The 25 year old Emirati was going to be arrested from his house at Al Warqa for drug related cases of May 3^rd. The police reached the defendant’s house in 3 vehicles. The suspect was outside his villa and reversed his car and intentionally crashed into the vehicle of the police corporal from the anti-narcotic department. In his attempt to escape, he rammed into the remaining 2 police cars as well,

The corporal said the defendant had two companions in his car: An Emirati and a Pakistani.

The student was arrested and referred to the public prosecutor after his drug use was confirmed.  He was also charged with intentionally damaging the police cars and endangering the lives of nine policemen.

A technical repair report showed that the car’s repair cost was estimated at Dhs 6,700.

The trial will resume on November 8.
