Pakistan founder Jinnah’s daughter Dina Wadia passes away

Dina Wadia, the daughter of Muhammed Ali Jinnah, passed away on Thursday at the age of 98.

Born on August 15, 1919, Wadia was Jinnah’s only child.

Muhammed Ali Jinnah -the founder of Pakistan and revered in Pakistan as Quaid-i-Azam. Dina is survived by her son Nusli Wadia, daughter Diana N Wadia, and great-grandsons Ness and Jeh Wadia.

Nusli Wadia is an Indian-born British Parsi businessman, entrepreneur and the chairman of the Wadia Group, one of India’s oldest conglomerates.

Dina Wadia was born on August 15, 1919. She had never visited Pakistan since her father’s funeral in September 1948. She last visited the country in 2004 during a landmark cricket series between Pakistan and India on the invitation of former President General (retd.) Pervez Musharraf.

Dina fell in love with and married an Indian Parsi named Neville Wadia at the age of 17. She and Neville lived in Mumbai and had two children before the couple divorced.
