US army and allies conduct show of force with bombers in high tension area

US bombers along with warplanes of Japan and South Korea conducted a show of force in the highly sensitive South Korean area. This is the second time US army take part in a Combined show of force in the area.

A statement by US Pacific Air Force said that two supersonic B-1B Lancer bombers yesterday took off from Andersen Air Force Base in Guam, then flew south of South Korea and west of Japan where they were joined by Japan Air Self-Defence Force fighters. The lancers then flew over the Yellow Sea with Korean fighter jets. The military exercise is the continuation of October 10 show of force and it’s a part of  “continuous bomber presence” mission in the Pacific and was planned in advance, said the statement. Earlier, North Korea in July launched two intercontinental ballistic missiles apparently capable of reaching the US mainland, which is described by leader Kim Jong-Un as a gift to “American bastards.”

However, the mission is explained as an early planned one and the officials added that it’s not in response to any current event. Recently South Korean spy agency reported that North Korea is preparing for another missile test. It followed up with two missiles that passed over Japan. US President Donald Trump, who has warned of “fire and fury” in response to North Korean threats, begins today an Asian tour that will include a visit to South Korea. The trip is set to be dominated by the North Korea nuclear issue.
