CR Patil, BJP MP from Navsari in Surat, originally hails from Jalgaon in Maharashtra. The party also has one MLA, and ten corporators in Surat-Udana Municipal Corporation who originally hails from Maharashtra’s Khandesh region. Patil, who commands influence over a sizeable chunk of the migrant population, has been given the responsibility of these voters. He expressed confidence of BJP bagging 120-125 seats of a total of 182 seats.
He commented that although the opposition has been raking up issues of education, health and Tata’s Nano factory, Gujarat’s migrant population is with the BJP, who has done a lot of them be it jobs, roads, electricity, pure water and proper drainage system and road connectivity.
