Special cabinet meeting today: Chandy’s fate will decided

The judicial commission has accused 22 persons, including Oommen Chandy and some of his ministers and officials.

A special meeting of Kerala cabinet will be held today to discuss further action following the action regarding the Solar Commission Report.

The cabinet will also chalk out the steps to enlarge the special investigation team probing the case, and initiate proceedings to appraise the Governor on the actions taken.

Sources said that the accused in the solar case, including former chief minister Oommen Chandy, will not be charged immediately.

The nature of the actions will be finalized after the meeting of police team headed by Northern Range DGP Rajesh Divan.

The team comprised of newly added members will train their focus on collecting evidence beyond the findings in the Justice Sivarajan Commission report.

The judicial commission has accused 22 persons, including Oommen Chandy and some of his ministers, besides members of parliament and police officers, who investigated the scam initially during the Chandy’s days.
