An earthquake of 6.5 magnitudes on the Richter scale has hit the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica near its capital, San Jose.
The quake was measured at a depth of 12.3 miles (20 km), centered around the southwest of San Jose, but there is no threat of Pacific-wide tsunami, as of now. The U.S. Geological Survey says the earthquake was centered along Costa Rica’s Pacific Coast about 10 miles southeast of Jaco, which is about 60 miles southwest of the capital of San Jose.
No loss of life and property has been reported yet.
