In the stunning memory of the 30 years old murder in Kerala

Pathanamthitta: The police force recaptures the stunning memory of the murder that took place 30 years ago. The murder case of Sukumara Kurupp has come forward in the previous days and the media reports that he is still alive in Saudi Arabia. The 33 years old case from the police case dairy was reconstructed by the police department. Again the murder of Chacko and defendant Sukumara Kurupp has been a topic of discussion among the people.

The police force can find the case because Sukumara Kurupp’s fingerprint is in the sub-registrar office, said print bureau mastermind. Kurupp’s fingerprint will be in the register office related to his land resources. The fingerprint bureau said that to get the unavailable fingerprints they had to depend on the sub-registrar office. And the thing is that police didn’t take the necessary action to find out Kurupp’s fingerprint 30 years ago. Kurupp’s family house does not exist today. The theatre where Chacko used to work is now closed. The remains of the car used to burn Chacko’s body – an engine still exists at the Mavelikara police station. The Cheriyanatt Smitha Bavan, where Chacko was murdered is there as well. Kurupp’s left-hand thumb impression is available in the sub-register office, even so, no progress has been made in the case.

Sukumara Kurupp was reported dead on 22nd of January 1981.  Chegannor police conducted an inquiry into the murder but had given a careless report. The important thing is that after the murder the police had not able to acquire the fingerprints from the lodge in Aluva were Sukumara Kurupp and his driver resided.

From the beginning itself, it was clear for the then DYSP of Chegannor Mr. P. M. Haridas that the dead person was not Sukumara Kurupp. On behalf of the inquiry, the police searched the surroundings of his home and place where the body was hidden. The smell of chicken from the kitchen of the home created several doubts in Mr. Haridas’s mind. He questioned the mentality of the people in the home to cook chicken within hours of their dear one’s death. When they searched the home they found the residents cooking chicken. The police couldn’t find any sorrow on the faces of the relatives, leading the police to new doubts and theories.
