To those Indians who need help, ‘crusading Supermom of State’ to your rescue.
Lost your passport? Just contact the embassy.
Lost your money? You have to find the means.
Here’s how Sushma Swaraj helps Indians via twitter.
Twitter user @elkar7o approached the External Affairs Minister with the problem pertaining to his sister and her husband.
Dear @SushmaSwaraj my sister and brother in law are in New Zealand on vacation and they have lost their passport along with most of their cash. Please help them get a new one immediately.

Sushma Swaraj often personally responds to requests for help on Twitter.
In 2016, the Washington Post called her India’s “crusading Supermom of State, solving the problems of distressed Indians around the world who send her their concerns via Twitter.”
Swaraj was featured in Foreign Policy’s 100 Leading Global Thinkers list. The magazine complimented Swaraj “for fashioning a novel brand of Twitter diplomacy”.
“From evacuating Indians from Yemen to helping replace lost passports, Swaraj has earned the nickname “the common tweeples leader” for her aggressive use of Twitter,” the magazine noted.
