A Paraguay national arrested by the CISF officials at Cochin International Airport in Kerala for illegally carrying 3.69 kg cocaine. The seized drug cost about Rs 4 crore in the international market.
The passenger, named as Alexis Regalado Fernandez, was caught around 7.30 pm yesterday. The frisking team noticed some padding under the clothes on the body of Fernandez. They found it to be suspicious.
According to officials, the passenger was taken for a pat-down search which led to the recovery of some white powder packets strapped to his waist and shin bone in plastic pouches designed like cricket pads.
The powder was later identified as cocaine. Fernandez, having passport number L333622, came to Cochin on an Emirates Airlines flight from Sao Paulo, Brazil via Dubai on November 19.
