It is shameful thing that the film industry also witnesses such sex harassment incidents. No safety for actresses at working site also.. Here are actresses who were sexually harassed, abused, molested at working site.

Zareen Khan

During the promotions of Aksar 2, Zareen Khan alleged that she was nearly molested while the makers of the film just sat there and ‘drank beer’. She also said how the film, that was supposed to have been a clean one, turned out to be something completely different.

Rekha

Little did the 15-year-old Rekha know that her debut film would leave her emotionally scarred for life. She was shooting for director Raja Nawathe’s Anjana Safar, that released in 1969, when veteran actor Biswajeet Chatterjee and the director decided to subject the teenager to their nefarious plot.

For this particular ‘romantic’ scene, the moment the director shouted ‘Action!’, Biswajeet grabbed Rekha and forced a kiss on her mouth. Amid deafening cheer, applause and whistles from the crew, Biswajeet unlocked his lips from Rekha’s only after five long minutes. Five long minutes, during which Rekha kept her eyes tightly shut to prevent anyone else from seeing her tears.

Tisca Chopra

 

 

It was during an ‘outdoor shoot’ for a film that a certain director asked Tisca Chopra, best known for her work in Aamir Khan’s Taare Zameen Par, to come to his hotel room to ‘discuss the script’.

“Come eight o’clock I go to the hotel’s flower and cake shop, I buy this exotic bouquet… and this box of luxurious chocolates and I knock on Reptile’s (nickname of the director) door. And he says come in, and he’s sitting in a satin maroon lungi kurta. It was so tight, it was so cheesy, but there he was reclining.”

Chopra proceeded to give him the flowers and chocolates. She followed it up with a big hug and lots of thanks for “shooting her beautifully”.

“He looked a little surprised when he saw me behave this way. Because he said that he didn’t expect the fly to be so enthusiastic to walk into the spider’s web,” explained Chopra.

Kalki Koechlin

Kalki Koechlin admitted to the existence of the casting couch in Bollywood, although she added that ‘compromising’ would be of no help to an aspiring actor with no talent. Talking about her own experience, she said in an interview, “Of course, it exists! It did try and entangle me in its grip but I am slippery, I always managed to get out of it. The minute I felt uncomfortable, I walked away!

Mamta Kulkarni

It was during the filming of China Gate that director Rajkumar Santoshi apparently asked her for sexual favours, Mamta Kulkarni had alleged. The yesteryear actress also accused Santoshi of chopping her role in the film

Payal Rohatgi

Payal Rohatgi made headlines when she accused her “mentor” and director Dibakar Banerjee of misbehaving with her. Apparently, after she auditioned for his film Shanghai, he came over to her house and asked her to “lift her top”. The Khosla Ka Ghosla director denied her claims and said that she was maligning him just because he did not select her for his film.

Chitrangda Singh

When Chitrangda Singh walked out of director Kushan Nandy’s Babumoshai Bandookbaaz starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the film was left in a lurch. Chitrangda alleged that Nandy’s remarks during the shoot of the film made her walk out of it. Nandy, Singh alleged, said, “Tange ragdo and sex karo,” while directing her in an intimate scene with Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Bidita Bag was later cast for the role that Chitrangda was supposed to have played.
